Preparing for your birth and labour can be exciting for some and overwhelming for others. Sometimes even just the amount of resources available can seem overwhelming and hard to decipher between what you actually need to know and what is “maybe nice to have.”
Take time for YOU and understanding your birth wishes.
Sometimes we just need to put down the books and other peoples opinions and enjoy some quiet moments to discover what you truly desire and wish when it comes to your pregnancy and birth journey. What do you want your birth to look like? Who would you like to have with you? Who do you NOT want to have with you? What will your first few days, weeks, months look like postpartum? What kind of support would feel good for you? These are just some of the questions that you may wish to reflect on.
Make a list of the resources that resonate with you and that you would like to dive into deeper.
We often see on facebook group boards, read in books and get information from others but it can all seem a little overwhelming sometimes. Make a list of the things you hear/see that resonate with you and you would like to possibly dive a little deeper into. Hear/read something that doesn’t resonate with you? Release it and acknowledge that it’s not for you. This is an important part of the process! Your pregnancy, your baby, your journey.
Join our Prenatal Yoga, Movement & Birth Education
Our Prenatal Yoga, Movement & Birth Education course is a virtual series that combines 45 minutes of movement with 30 minutes of conversations and connections. During the movement portion you can expect to learn ways to release your body from any pain and discomfort, experience movements to help stabilize and strengthen and dive into understanding how your core system works and what you can be doing to help prepare you for your labour and beyond. Why birth education? We wanted to create a safe place for you to get your questions answered and a place where you could meet birth experts and get to know them a bit more!

Take some time to fill up your own cup before your birth and baby arrives.
I know, the self care talk can sometimes seem a little overwhelming and overused. The whole “sleep as often as you can and take lots of baths” can only go so far. So instead we are challenging you to make a list of all the things that make you smile, make you feel great from the inside out and leave you thinking “oh I can’t wait until I can do that again” Find some time to do these things either on your own or with those who also leave you feeling amazing from the inside out. Maybe it’s reading a book in the bath, heading to your favourite camping spot or brunch with your favourite girlfriends followed by a nap.
