For many of our clients, the instructors are the only face(s) and name(s) they know when they think of Little Lotus Yoga™. We want our website to reflect how important the instructor team is to our success, and so from time to time, we post an instructor profile to let you get to know our team a bit better. Today we are featuring Tiffany!
LLY: Please tell us a little bit about yourself and how you started teaching yoga?
Tiffany: I am a 25 year old Yoga teacher and Registered Nurse — Yogi by day, life saver by night! 😉
I found yoga way back when I was in grade 11, over ten years ago; I then started some teacher trainings in 2010 and began teaching in the fall of 2011.
Life is an adventure and I love learning everyday about myself, others, and everything in between!
LLY: Why do you enjoy teaching pre-natal yoga?
Tiffany: Becoming a Mom is a journey, and pre-natal yoga can be a great way to help moms-to-be find a bit of peace and tranquility within themselves that will help them as moms (and in life). I love being a part of that and guiding new moms to find some time for themselves.
LLY: Why do you enjoy teaching children’s yoga?
Tiffany: Children are energetic and resilient. I truly admire the spirit of a child and love the energy they provide in everything they do! Teaching yoga to children is a real treat!
LLY: What is your favourite yoga pose to teach to the children and why?
Tiffany: Any balancing poses are my favourite because it’s just a great way to giggle and have fun!
LLY: How do you take yoga off the mat within your life and your family?
Tiffany: I try to follow the idea that “what you do in yoga, you can do in real life” — that goes to say about focus, patience, laughter, forgiveness, etc… Breathing through intense situations or something that makes me feel uncomfortable is another way I take yoga into my life — if I can breathe, I know it will all be ok!
LLY: What is one tip or trick you can share with our Little Lotus families that they can do at home with their children?
Tiffany: Children will mimic you — if you can do some yoga with your child around, they will start to do yoga as well. You are providing your child with a positive outlet to unwind, move their bodies and even learn to meditate.
