A Note From Sara:
I have been practicing yoga since 2006. While working at a yoga studio I was inspired to take the plunge and become a teacher myself, completing a 200 hour Hatha yoga teacher training in 2011. Planning to focus my energies mainly on prenatal and Mom and Baby yoga it was a happy coincidence when I discovered I was pregnant with my first child a week before the training was to begin! The intense focus on yoga during this amazing time was instrumental in what turned out to be a beautiful birth experience. I’ve since given birth to my second child and, while I had less time to dedicate to my practice the second time around, yoga was still an integral part of another awesome birth. I am deeply grateful for my yoga practice and am passionate about sharing this gift with others.
I love teaching prenatal yoga because I have seen first hand how the mind body connection developed through a regular yoga practice can facilitate the awe inspiring labour of pregnancy and birth. The best advice I can give to families is simple: Just breath. Breathe deeply when times are good, and breathe even deeper when things get rocky.
