I always loved the movie Dirty Dancing and everytime I am at Fairmont Chateaeu Montebello I feel like I am brought back to this same place. The cozy resort & country’esque feel, fine dining that is absolultely divine every single time, lots of activities for all ages of the family and a place where you can come back again and again and always have something to do.
Whether you want to kick back and relax or have some fun adventures Chateau Montebello has something for everybody. We have been a few times in the Summer to this beautiful resort but we were so glad that we made a Winter trip because it truly is magical all year round here. With 3 children under the age of 7 they slept so well after a day full of outdoor skating, hiking and then a long swim in the very large indoor pool. Topped off with a delicious buffet (appealing to both kids and adults!) they were quick to sleep while I slipped out (don’t freak out! My husband stayed with them!) for a coffee and baileys by the large indoor fire place.
So, what exactly is there to do at Fairmont Chateau Montebello? The activities are plentiful!
*Ice skating
*Hockey (skates & hockey sticks available at the Ski Shop on site!)
*Cross country skiing (you don’t need to bring your own!)
*Snowshoeing (you don’t need to bring your own!)
*Curling
*Dogsledding
*Sleigh Rides
*Tube Sliding
*Snowmobiling
*Indoor Pool (it is huge!)
*Indoor Tennis
*Indoor Squash
*Land Rover Experience
*Spa
*Indoor Basketball
Fairmont Chateau Montebello truly is a lovely escape for those who still want to expereince a true Canadian winter and all the fun (and snow and cold!) that it brings. When you are looking for something a little less physical you can grab a board game from the Activity Room, do some crafts and play in the Kids Play Room, or you can head to the Spa (where you can normally find me!). There truly is something for everybody.
The cutest thing from our last stay? My little cuties in their Fairmont bath robes! They have little robes that fit to their size and keep them uber cozy as they walk to the indoor pool (which is through an underground tunnel, how cool?!)
I can’t share our love for this wonderful place without mentioning the FOOD! Specifically the brunch. I think this is my husbands favourite thing about our stays here. You definitely don’t want to miss out! It is a great food experience for the whole family with everything from scrambled eggs, homemade omelettes, breakfast meats, crepes (with warm Quebec maple syrup….sooooo yum!), breakfast potatoes, fresh fruits, cheeses, pastries and so much more. My kids faves? The crepes with the warm maple syrup and fresh squeezed juices.
