I was so excited to take the kids to Sesame Place as I had heard great things about it and knew the kids would have a great time. I am now even more excited to go back. I am seriously hoping that we can go back next summer. It was AMAZING! The kids loved it and it was the perfect size for the ages of my children (1 and 3).
We spent two days at Sesame Place and would have gone back a third but the rain kept us away and we decided to hit up some outlet malls instead. I had researched quite a bit about the park before we went, talked to a friend who had been and connected with others from the Philadelphia area on twitter.
We purchased a 3 night hotel package through Sesame Place that included unlimited admission until Ocotber 27th, 2013. A few days before we were to arrive at Sesame Place I found some other reviews of the hotel we were scheduled to stay at and we quickly decided that we didn’t want to gamble staying at a mediocre hotel after having an amazing experience the week before at Staybridge Suites in Glen Mills. We were able to cancel our hotel (with refund for hotel portion) and re-book on our own and still keep the great deal Sesame had gave us on the park tickets. They had great customer service and made this change stress free.
We re-booked our hotel at the Holiday Inn Suites and they were lovely. Extremely clean, friendly staff, spacious (not quite as spacious as Staybridge) and we had a hot breakfast included every morning.
From the moment we walked in to Sesame Place I knew we were going to have a great time. It is clean, friendly staff and the perfect size for small children.
The kids loved the carousel (my 15 month old continued to sign “more, more”), there were rides that were perfect for their age and even a few that they could “grow in to” should we come back when they are older as well. Sesame Street characters walked around throughout the day and would stop for pictures and to interact with the children.
There were many food options and you were also able to bring in your own food and drinks. This is a huge cost savings with young kids who like to constantly snack. We did eat lunch one of the days at the park and were happy with the food options. Choosing the standard chicken fingers and fries with sidesle slices for the kids and my husband and I had a salad which was very fresh. Staff were continually cleaning and ensuring the dining areas were clean.
The water park area was quite large considering the size of the park itself and we spent the morning of day 2 at the water park before it go too busy. I have found in the past that many families do the water park at the end of the day and it can get quite busy so we tend to do the opposite. The lazy river was perfect and enjoyed by the whole family. The current was not fast at all and would be comfortable for a toddler. Lifejackets at the park are free of charge and required on most water slides for the under 4 crowd. There are several wading pool options for the kids and toddler friendly water slides as well as an entire other water park area that would be great for older children.
The shows that you can see are fantastic! There are 4-5 shows, approximately 20 minutes in length, that are offered throughout the days. Watching the kids faces light up as some of their favourite characters took the stage for interactive shows was amazing.
At the end of the day when your child falls asleep with a big bird stuffie hugged close to them I think you can call it a good day!
