Most of us spend our pregnancy preparing for what the upcoming months will be like. How big baby is compared to various pieces of fruit, the first kicks, the first time we see them in that ultrasound are just a few of the things we love to see and experience.
Then we focus on our labour. What is our birth plan, what will labour look like and how long might it be?
But what about what life will be like once baby comes home?
It is very common for most new parents to focus on the pregnancy but the importance of also planning for life with baby in those first few days, weeks and months is just as important.
We love this resource from the Champlain Maternal Newborn Regional Program It provides a full “road map” for families that they can start during pregnancy and it will help create reflection questions and points to ensure you have the information, knowledge and resources that most parents surveyed shared, during the creation of the document, that they wish they had.
Grab the CMNRP Road Map document below and use it as you prepare during your pregnancy and beyond.
