The air is crisp and the leaves are changing colour. The dampness and coolness begins to creep in and the feelings of summer being behind us can sometimes leave us feeling a little blue.
Don’t feel disappointed because summer is over and that may mean less family time and going with the flow. There is so much to do in the Ottawa/ Gatineau area as the Fall is here.
Here are some of our favourites:
Parc Omega– this family fun place will take you on an adventure all throughout “Canada”. Get up close and personal with animals such as bison, Muskox, deer, cinnamon bears, Rocky Mountain goats, cute little baby boars and so many more animals! Grab come carrots and plan to spend a full day here because there is so much to do!
We have always been a huge fan of Parc Omega and this year we finally gave in to the kids and we stayed over night! They have been asking for years and….well……I love the outdoors but not for overnight stays 😉 BUT we had an absolutely amazing time!
Fairmont Chateau Montebello– Enjoy the Outaouis region with all the beautiful colours of the trees at this family friendly resort. Enjoy a bike ride, mini putt, kayaking, hiking and the gorgeous indoor pool. My kids ask over and over again to come back here again and again! And the brunch? WOW! You will never look at maple crepes the same again!
Mont Cascade– Head over to Mont Cascade Thanksgiving Weekend to enjoy the beautiful colours of fall. Ride the chair lift up to the top of the hill and see the amazing views! Take the chair lift up the hill and see the amazing views and vibrant colours. Enjoy BBQ, activities and great company! You check check out more about Cascade Colourfest HERE.
Saunders Farm– Saunders Farm is THE place to go for some Halloween spooky fun in the Ottawa area! Jump on the Haunted Hayride, take a turn in the corn maze, check out the Princess Playhouse and get ready for a day full of fun! Don’t miss out on this and take the drive out to Munster before, or on, October 31st!
Pumpkin Inferno– If you have never been to Pumpkin Inferno at Upper Canada Village don’t let this year pass by without going for a visit! We highly suggest going on a weekday evening if you are able as the weekends can sometimes find long waits to get in. Yes, it is a night time activity, so maybe let the kids have a bit of an extra afternoon nap and let the rules slide for one night of fun 😉 Tip- dress your kids in bright clothes or have them wear some glow bracelets so you can easily see them at all times.
Breathe in the cool crisp air this Fall with family fun!
