I remember when I was preparing for my first baby six years ago. I read every book I could get my hands on, scoured websites, read blog after blog and filled my mind with tips, tricks and things I needed to know to prepare for labour.
We signed up and took our childbirth course which was a great refresher and my husband (who hadn’t read any books) received some great information!
Then my first contraction started and I started to question how prepared I really was for labour. I breathed through the contractions, just like I had done in yoga, and started to think about postures and positions that would help me as I rode the wave of my contractions.
I have taken what I have learned in my three natural childbirths, years of teaching prenatal yoga classes and teacher trainings and put it together in a workshop that will help other expectant parents really feel prepared for their labour and delivery.
So what will you really learn in this workshop?
The first three hours will be just for you, the expectant mothers. Why? We are going to take this time to focus on any aches and pains you are feeling throughout your pregnancy. To have some time to journal, reflect, and personally reflect on your hopes, dreams and desires as you journey through motherhood. There will also be time to discuss anything that may be on your mind, questions you may have, learn from other experiences, and so much more.
The second three hours will be focused on you and your birth partner. We will be looking at the stages of labour and what you REALLY need to know for when that first contraction hits through to after the birth of your sweet baby. Practice different positions, vocal toning, massage and techniques that you may find helpful throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond. Understand what to really expect when you are expecting.
Still wondering if this workshop is for you?
This is for you if…..
** You are looking for an alternative to traditional childbirth classes.
** You want to learn hands on techniques that you will actually use in labour.
** You want to embrace your pregnancy and birthing journey in a natural way.
** You want to learn coping techniques and strategies to assist in reducing labour sensations.
** You want hands on learning for you and your birth partner.
** You want to learn the things you won’t learn in pregnancy and parenting books.
I get it. You want to feel confident as you move through your pregnancy, labour and delivery. You want to understand what to expect and practice hands on strategies that you will find helpful throughout labour and delivery.
The techniques we will learn in these workshops can be useful to assist in relaxation, positioning of baby, reduction of pain, decrease in length of labour and increase in bonding with your birth partner and baby.
I want you to feel prepared for the birth you want. I want you to be able to make wise choices and take time to enjoy your pregnancy and new family.
I can’t wait to see you at an upcoming workshop soon!
Warmly,
Amanda
