Fertility yoga is a form of yoga that is designed exclusively for preparing your spirit, body and mind for new life. Fertility yoga focuses on the centers of the body or “chakras” associated with fertility and reproduction. In particular it uses unique yoga poses that open the pelvis and stimulate the second chakra located just below the naval. This area has long been associated with fertility. Releasing tension in your lower belly and pelvis will help increase the flow of blood and energy to your reproductive organs. Yes, my fertility yoga classes will improve blood flow to the reproductive organs, it will also help relax your body and restore your physical and emotional balance. With each pose you will have an opportunity for you to create awareness and begin to release physical tension, negative emotions and energetic blocks in your body that can interfere with your fertility.
What can you expect from a fertility yoga class?
Expect a safe non-judging space where you are free to talk about your stresses, frustrations and struggles as well as your silver linings. We will begin our class with a meditation then move into some gentle poses that focus on bringing circulation into different sections of your pelvic area (ovaries, uterus, the muscles of your vaginal wall etc.). These poses also sooth and reduce anxiety. The poses are held for longer periods of time to allow for relaxation and some self reflection. At the end of class there will the option to have a group discussion on varying topics (time dependent).
