This breath is practiced through the left nostril with each inhale and is associated with the cooling energy of the moon. The moon breath is thought to cool the mind and the body. You can use this breath with your little ones when they are in need of some quiet time and need to take a few moments to cool themselves down for any little upsets.
Sitting in a comfortable position, block your right nostril and inhale through the left nostril. Pause, block the left nostril and exhale through the right nostril. Block the right nostril and inhale left again. Repeat the process.
