Who doesn’t love a nice juicy piece of fruit? Ripe and ready to eat, so delicious, nutritious and filling.
Did you ever think you could help your child learn to meditate by using a piece of fruit? Yes, you can!
Have each child pick a piece of fruit and have them sit comfortable with the piece of fruit in their hands. Look at the fruit, feel it, smell it, notice it’s shape and colours. Then have the child close their eyes and imagine that same piece of exact fruit in their mind. The same colour, shape, smell, etc. Was their fruit picked, plucked, grown on a tree, on the ground? Did it come from some place local or did it travel far to get there?
The goal is to begin to have the child focus their attention and energy towards one object (the piece of fruit) They slowly begin to withdraw their attention from elsewhere and concentrate on one object. This is one of the first steps to learning to meditate!
