An amazing Toy Store in the west end of Ottawa and run by Patti Taggart. I spoke with Patti last year and thought it was time to share her amazing store with you again!
We are also members of the Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada which is a group of over 40 Toy Stores across Canada that are independent specialty toy stores. We won Neighbourhood Toy Store of the year two years back to back 2011 and 2012 this was an honor given to us by our suppliers.

LLY: What does Tag Along Toys sell?
Tag Along Toys: Tag Along Toys sells quality, educational fun toys from birth to adults.
LLY: What was your motivation for starting this lovely local Ottawa store?
Tag Along Toys:
My motivation was that my background is a Registered Early Childhood Educator and saw the need in the West end for a specialty locally owned toy store to meet the West End Growing population.
LLY: What are your most popular items for the preschool crowd?
Tag Along Toys: Some of the popular items for preschool children are the category of imagination we carry lots of great tin tea sets, wooden food for kitchen play; we carry many lines such as Crocodile Creek, Ravensburger, Djeco puzzles which are high quality with a really great price point. We also carry lots of great outdoor toys such as the Stomp Rocket that shoots 200 ft up in the air, great dress up clothes such as knights, superheroes and princesses.
LLY: What are your most popular items for children ages 6-10?
Tag Along Toys: Some of the items for the 6-10 years old are our science kits printed circuit boards where you can create an FM Radio, Musical Recorders and a kit with over 100 experiments called Elenco kits also science kits make your own touchable bubbles, crystal making kits, we carry beautiful lines of crafts such as all natural make your own Lip Balm making kits that are Canadian made, make your own headband kits and an exclusive line called Djeco crafts that are inspired by many different artists and painters. We also have Rock Tumblers polish your rocks and create key chains and jewelry.

LLY: What is your Grandparents’ Day and do you have offer any specials for educators/teachers?
Tag Along Toys: We now have an online shopping website www.tagalongtoys.ca where you can find a great selection of our toys and you can follow our blog on there too.
We offer 10% off to Teachers and Educators everyday and the last Thursday of every month we have Grandparents Day 20% off all day long for our Grandparents. We customize loot bags give us a budget and age group and let us do the rest.
