As a follow-up to last week’s post about Selective Eaters, Sylvia is sharing some of her smoothie recipes. Yum! If only she was offering to lend us her Vitamix, too 😉
Note: Smoothies pictured are not the results of these specific recipes and are meant only as a representation of how a smoothie made with similar ingredients might appear.
AVOCADO BANANA BERRY SMOOTHIE
- Half a ripe avocado
- 1 frozen bananas
- 5 frozen or fresh strawberries
- Pour 1/2 cup milk
- A teaspoon of allspice
Combine the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
ORANGE BANANA SMOOTHIE
- 3 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 small banana, sliced
- 5 ice cubes
Combine everything except ice and blend for 15 seconds. Add ice and blend until smooth.
BERRY SMOOTHIE
- 1/2 bag of frozen blueberries or raspberries or strawberries
- 7 or 8 ice cubes
- 1 1/2 cups of milk
- 1 banana
Combine ingredients in a blender and switch to the highest setting…try to blend until smooth. I like to add ground flax seed or hemp seed to this mixture (for added protein and omega).
FROZEN FRUIT SMOOTHIE
- 1/2 cups frozen bananas
- 1/2 cups frozen peaches
- 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cups orange juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
Combine the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Refreshing!
